John Buergler,
CEO
John brings 30 years of finance and leadership experience across the U.S. Military and leading commercial services firms. At Agathos AEC, he leads the integration, scaling, and growth of a best-in-class platform and leadership team.
A West Point graduate, John served as a Company Commander and Staff Officer in U.S. Army Attack Aviation, both in the U.S. and overseas. He later joined GE’s Financial Management Program, building expertise across media and commercial services businesses in NYC and Texas.
John has held divisional CFO roles at Bloomberg and Univision and most recently served as CFO of UnitedMasters, an a16z, Google, and Apple-backed artist and brand services company, overseeing Finance, Legal, People, Facilities, and IT while supporting creators in 100+ countries.
Daniel Timm,
CFO
Dan brings 25+ years of experience across finance, accounting, operations, and strategy. He has led budgeting, turnaround, and growth initiatives at firms including MicroStrategy, FTI Consulting, CPA Global, and Coffey International, and helped build FTI Consulting’s Strategy and Transformation practice.
Most recently, Dan has focused on supporting small to mid-sized organizations through buy-side and sell-side M&A, including diligence, quality of earnings, and post-transaction integration.
He holds a BS in Business Administration from John Carroll University, an MBA from The George Washington University, and is a CPA.
Ian Adelson,
Platform Leader
Ian is Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Hunter Forest Capital Partners, the private equity partner for Agathos AEC, and serves as the Platform Leader for new partners on the Agathos AEC platform.
He began his career as an institutional investor at Kingdon Capital, Societe Generale, and Atlas Merchant Capital before moving into M&A and strategy at UES, which was named the #1 fastest-growing firm on the Zweig Group Hot List in the Engineering & Construction industry in 2022 and 2023, and Marcus & Millichap.
Ian holds a Masters in Applied Mathematics from NYU, a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University, and a Bachelors in Mathematics and Computer Science from Emory University.
